Before CORD, I was unaware of the government subsidies for farming and did not know any resources who could guide me in agriculture.

Now I am member of ATMA, Farmers’ Cooperative Society, registered with NABARD and linked well with agriculture and horticulture departments.
The knowledge that I have gained through CORD helped me increase my yield and I am very happy & grateful for the same.

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, the founder of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide (in 1951), consecrated Chinmaya Sarveshwara at Thamaraipakkam, Tiruvallur district in the year 1989. Since then, the center is serving the rural community through a charitable medical center and a free school named Harihara Vidyalaya. In 2005, with the blessings of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda and the guidance of CORD National team at Sidhbari, Shri P.N.Kannan started the rural development work in Tiruvallur district.  From 2013 December, CORD was further reaching out to more villages and empowerment programs, under the able leadership of Smt.Priya Arunachalam.
